Astoria Galilee Hotel is well known for its experience in hosting athletes and challenge-sports groups, such as bicycle riders, jeep drivers, water sports-lovers and hikers. Our special location traditionally has been a starting point for touring the Galilee. Alon Promenade

Beautiful lookout point, established by generous Swiss Jewish donors. Eucalyptus trees, benches and tables, hiking paths, drinking water, playgrounds and lawns. A spectacular view of the beautifu bluel Sea of Galilee, the Golan Heights, Mt. Hermon and the Galilee. Visiting is highly recommended all year round. The hiking path may take the whole day. Beraniki Mountain
The mountain is named for Beraniki, sister of Agripas II, who ruled Tiberias in 61 BC. In archaeological digs done on the summit, a Byzantine church was found, from the 6th century BC. This church had been active till the Crusaders' era (12th century BC.) At this site are traces of the ancient Byzantine wall, 10 m. in length and made of basalt stones with squared towers at the end of the wall.
